Who We Are

Our mission is to create and sustain an inviting community. Music is the medium for our welcoming and optimistic message of diversity. Our wide range of musical styles engages our members and audience, and reflects the brilliance of the world around us. We encourage the development and introduction of new music by supporting commissions and by developing collaborative relationships with contemporary composers.

Sine Nomine came together as a result of several years of collaborating about what an ideal community chorus is to us. We continue to engage our whole membership in strategic planning. Day-to-day guidance is provided by our volunteer Leadership Council.

Sine Nomine is one of eight GALA choruses in Colorado.  GALA includes over 180 member choruses totaling approximately 8,000 singers. GALA is dedicated to helping member groups become more effective — both artistically and administratively — assisting emerging choruses and facilitating networking and training for established groups.

Chorus Staff

Lori Hermanson

Principal Accompanist

Dolhathai "Kloy" Intawong

Artistic Director

Born in Thailand, Kloy grew up playing music and singing. However, choral singing was not widespread there, so it was not until she came to the United States as a high school exchange student that she experienced choir herself. She fell immediately in love. Kloy completed her master's degree in Choral Conducting at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Arts in Choral Conducting at the University of Northern Colorado where she is focusing on the research of Southeast Asian Choral Music. She was the winner of the 2020 South Western American Choral Directors Association Graduate Conducting Competition.

Lori Hermanson has been performing and teaching in the Denver area for many years. She is an active collaborator for numerous local singers and musicians, and has accompanied choirs of various sizes and configurations for over 45 years. She has also served as rehearsal pianist and musical assistant for Opera Colorado for more than 25 years. She has performed as soloist with the Denver Symphony Orchestra and the Lamont Symphony, and in a variety of chamber ensembles. She specializes in collaborative work, and performs regularly with area choral ensembles, school groups, voice and instrumental teaching studios and churches. She is an experienced style and diction coach for singers with expertise in many languages, and also maintains an active private studio of piano students. Lori received her degree in Piano Performance from the University of Denver.
